F-Gas

Refrigeration systems using HFC refrigerants have since the 4th July 2007 been subject to the EC F-gas Regulation 842/2006.  This regulation was implemented with the specific purpose of reducing the emission of fluorinated gasses which  have a typical global warming potential 1300 times higher than carbon dioxide. It was proposed that local government and the environment agency  police the regulation.

Operators will be obliged to keep detailed records of mandatory refrigerant leak inspections and also the consumption of HFC in each refrigerant system. Leak checks will be required twice annually or annually, dependant on the size of the system. Hamilton-Clark can provide recording systems to be used within your organisation and advise on the necessary requirements to comply with this legislation.

In addition, operators are also obliged to ensure that all engineering personnel are suitably qualified to work on their equipment. Hamilton-Clark only recommends refrigeration  contractor’s whose engineers are qualified and will provide you, the end-user, with all necessary certification and guarantees to ensure that the regulations are met.

Automatic leak detection systems  are mandatory on systems with over 300 KG refrigerant charges.  We pride ourselves on our expertise in this field.  We have extensive experience with automatic leak detection systems and can provide you with up-to-the minute independent advice and product information.
