Edge Hill Student Hub – Ormskirk

Edge Hill University’s Director of Capital Developments David Oldham said:
“We are extremely pleased with the system. Hamilton-Clark not only presented us with the most competitive tender in capital terms, the heat recovery systems are set to provide savings into the long term.”

2011 saw the completion of a major contract for Edge Hill University using the latest technologies to minimise energy consumption at their new £13m Student Hub.

Hamilton-Clark was appointed to produce a refrigeration tender package, which included detailed design and specification of a central refrigeration plant system and services for the main kitchen, serve over counters, convenience retail, and grab-and-go areas at Edge Hill’s Ormskirk campus.

As well as the design and specification, Hamilton-Clark project managed the installation, which includes modern technologies to minimise energy consumption such as:

  • Refrigeration Heat Recovery for hot tap water.
  • Intuitive control systems and operator web interfaces.
  • Use of EC fans and inverter driven compressors.
  • Food Service Cabinets & blast chillers connected to a central plant system, which reduces mechanical ventilation requirements.
